Is there a Naruto card game?

Yes, and that is the easy half of the answer. Five separate Naruto card lines exist, made by four companies over twenty-four years, and the one most people are searching for does not go on sale until Summer 2027.

Quick answer

Yes. Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME launches worldwide in Summer 2027, with in-store tutorial sessions starting January 2027. Until then, four other Naruto card lines already exist: Bandai's original Naruto CCG (2006 to 2013), Kayou's Chinese collectible cards, the Naruto Mythos TCG from Cicaboom, and Panini sticker and card collections dating back to 2002.

Yes, there is a Naruto card game. There have been several, which is exactly why the question keeps getting asked. Search for it and you will be shown a 2027 release date, a 2006 card database, Chinese boxes with rarity ladders, and an Italian TCG, all at once, with nothing explaining how they relate.

Here is the full set, in the order people usually mean them.

1. Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME: the 2027 one

What it is. A new competitive trading card game built on the Leader-and-Life engine Bandai uses for One Piece, with a Chakra resource system and a Summon card that are specific to Naruto. Five card types: Leader, Character, EX Character, Chakra and Summon. Both Leaders revealed so far, Naruto Uzumaki (N-001) and Sasuke Uchiha (N-012), start on 15 Life, and you win by taking an opposing Leader to zero.

Who makes it. BANDAI CO., LTD., under its BANDAI CARD GAMES brand, the same label behind Digimon, ONE PIECE, UNION ARENA, Dragon Ball Super and Gundam.

Status today. Announced June 18, 2026. Rules framework and the first cards revealed July 29, 2026, one day before its world debut at Gen Con Indianapolis. Free tutorial sessions run at conventions through the rest of 2026 and into 2027: New York Comic Con and PAX Australia in October, then BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 across eleven cities. Those are followed by in-store tutorial sessions at local game stores from January 2027 and a simultaneous worldwide release in Summer 2027.

What a searcher usually means. This one. It is the only Naruto card game with a future tense attached to it, and the reason "is there a Naruto card game" spikes at all.

Our card list has every revealed card with verbatim ability text, the rules guide covers what is confirmed and what is not, the release date page tracks the roadmap, and events lists where you can play it before launch.

2. The original Naruto CCG (2006 to 2013)

What it is. The first Naruto trading card game in English. It was a full competitive CCG, sold in booster packs, starter decks and tins, that ran for most of a decade and was retired long before the 2027 game was announced.

Who makes it. Bandai, again. This is the ancestor of the 2027 game in branding only; the two share no rules and no cards.

Status today. Discontinued. Our archive tracks 38 English sets across the run, and fan databases put the complete English card pool at roughly 4,500 cards. Sources disagree about exactly when it stopped, with 2012 and May 2013 both cited, so we record the ambiguity rather than picking one.

What a searcher usually means. Anyone who owned Naruto cards as a child is looking for this line, usually to find out what a box in a cupboard is worth.

Sets, dates and card counts are in the classic CCG archive.

3. Kayou Naruto cards

What it is. A Chinese collectible card line organised around box tiers rather than gameplay. Tier 1 boxes are 36 cheap packs with the lowest hit rates; Tier 2, 2.5, 3 and 4 climb in price and each carry their own exclusive chase rarities, from SR and SSR up through GP, CR, ZR, TR and beyond.

Who makes it. KAYOU, in China. These are collectible cards sold for the chase, not a tournament game, and there is no organised play behind them.

Status today. Actively produced, in waves, and by far the easiest Naruto cards to buy in 2026. Be aware that Kayou publishes no official English rarity glossary, and pull rates only for some series. Most of the ladders and probabilities you will read online, including parts of ours, are community-compiled, and the leading guides disagree with each other on what several codes even stand for.

What a searcher usually means. Someone who has a stack of colourful foil cards and wants to know what the two-letter code in the corner means, or whether the cards are worth anything.

Rarity codes and box tiers are explained in the Kayou archive.

4. NARUTO Mythos TCG

What it is. A separate, playable Naruto trading card game. It is a real TCG with its own sets, rarity tiers and organised play, unrelated to Bandai's.

Who makes it. Cicaboom, an Italian publisher.

Status today. Live. Set 1, Konoha Shidō, launched in Europe in March 2026; its second edition reached the Americas on August 29, 2026, and the first edition has not been reprinted. Set 2, Shinobi Shiren, is scheduled for September 2026, and Set 3, Akatsuki, is announced for later in the year. The game's first Regional runs September 11 to 13, 2026 in Montreuil, outside Paris.

What a searcher usually means. Increasingly, people who found Mythos while looking for the Bandai game and want to know which of the two is "the real one". They are two different games from two different companies; both are real, and you can play either.

Sets and rarities are in the Mythos archive.

5. Panini stickers and cards

What it is. Sticker albums and trading card collections, running from around 2002. Collectibles, not a game.

Who makes it. Panini.

Status today. Long out of print and traded second-hand. We have not been able to verify a complete checklist from a primary source, so this site does not publish one yet, because an invented checklist is worse than none.

What a searcher usually means. Older collectors, and anyone who has found an album rather than a deck.

What is not confirmed about the Bandai game

The 2027 game has been revealed, not published, and the gap between those two words is where most bad information comes from. As of September 2, 2026, Bandai has not announced:

  • any product: no booster set, no starter deck, no collector's box
  • any set code. Revealed cards carry reveal-order numbers like N-001, not set-scoped numbering, and anyone quoting a set code is guessing
  • any price, with one exception: the official playmat given out at conventions is listed at $35 plus tax, arriving in 2027
  • a rulebook. There is no rules page on the official site, and no published turn structure, opening hand size, mulligan rule, copy limit or rarity distribution
  • a card list, region-by-region release dates, or an official game app

One number to watch out for: Bandai's English press release describes "51-card decks", while the Japanese how-to-play guide prints a 50-card main deck. The most likely explanation is that the English figure folds the Leader into the count. This site builds decks as 1 Leader + 50 main + 5 Chakra + 1 Summon, for 57 cards total, and our rules guide shows the working.

Pre-order listings with full box prices are already appearing on retailer sites. Bandai has announced no such product, so treat those figures as placeholders until a product code exists.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy the Naruto card game right now?
Not Bandai's. The NARUTO CARD GAME releases worldwide in Summer 2027 and no booster, starter or price has been announced. The only product code that exists is the CP-001 promo Chakra Card given out at conventions, plus a $35 official playmat that ships in 2027. You can buy Kayou cards, Naruto Mythos, and sealed or single cards from the 2006 CCG today.
Are Kayou Naruto cards the same as Bandai's Naruto card game?
No. Kayou's cards are a Chinese collectible line sold in tiered boxes and built around rarity chases; they are not the trading card game Bandai is launching in 2027, and the two share no cards, no numbering and no rules.
How big is a deck in Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME?
One Leader, a 50-card main deck, exactly 5 Chakra cards and exactly 1 Summon card, 57 cards in total. Bandai's English press release said "51 cards", which almost certainly counts the Leader alongside the main deck; the Japanese how-to-play guide prints 50.
