NARUTO CARD GAME pre-orders: what is real and what is a placeholder

Search for "naruto card game pre order" and you will find listings. Booster boxes, pack counts, three-figure prices, an "expected 2027" ship note. They look like commerce because they are commerce: a real store, a real cart, a real card form.

They are also for a product that does not exist. As of September 2, 2026 Bandai has announced no NARUTO CARD GAME product whatsoever. Not a booster set. Not a starter deck. Not a set code, a pack count, a box configuration or a price. The official site has no products page, and its news index (ten items, from the June 18, 2026 announcement to the August 28, 2026 Fest London posting) contains no product announcement of any kind.

Both things are true at once, and the gap between them is what this page is about.

What Bandai has actually published

Everything below is on a Bandai page today.

That is the whole of it. The deck construction line ("a deck of 51 cards, 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card") tells you the game will need products shaped a certain way. It does not tell you what those products will be called or cost.

What a pre-order listing for an unannounced product actually is

It is an allocation placeholder, and it is worth understanding rather than being outraged about.

When a game is announced far ahead of release, stores know two things: that demand will arrive, and that supply at launch will be allocated by distributors rather than ordered freely. A pre-order page is how a store captures the first of those before it has any visibility into the second. It gets an email list, a queue, and, for the store's own forecasting, a demand signal to take into an allocation conversation.

To open that page, the store's system needs a product. So the store invents one. It picks a plausible configuration, usually copied from whatever the publisher's other games use. It picks a price, usually by taking a comparable box from another game and padding it for launch scarcity. It writes "expected 2027" in the ship field. None of those three numbers came from Bandai, because Bandai has not published them.

The listings themselves range from careful to careless. A careful one says "placeholder, subject to change, no charge until ship". A careless one presents an invented box price as though it were an MSRP, which is where the bad information in search results comes from. We are not naming specific listings on this page: the ones circulating change weekly, and pointing at one implies the others are fine.

The tell is always the same. A real pre-order cites a set code. Every Bandai product that has ever gone on sale carries one: ST01, GD01, OP-17, FB11, BT-26. Naruto has none. A listing that cannot name the product it is selling is not selling a product.

Before you pay, check four things

1. A set code on a Bandai page. Go to the official site and look for a products section. If the code on the retailer listing is not on a Bandai page, the product is not real yet. Bandai publishes set codes months before release. For the GUNDAM CARD GAME, ST01 through ST04 and GD01 were announced on January 6, 2025 for a July 2025 release.
2. An MSRP on Bandai's own product page. Bandai prints MSRPs directly on its product pages for every English release. If the only price in existence is the retailer's, the retailer made it up.
3. The distributor. Bandai's retailer page names the sixteen companies through which stores will eventually order. A store that cannot tell you which of those it buys through does not have a supply line to the product it is selling you.
4. When you are charged, and what happens if the price changes. On a placeholder listing, the configuration is going to change: it is a guess about a product Bandai has not designed a box for. Read the cancellation terms before, not after. A store that takes payment now for a product with no announced release month is holding your money for at least ten months.

What Bandai's other games cost: as context, not as a forecast

This is the most useful anchor available, and the most abused. Every figure below was read off an official Bandai product page in September 2026.

The pattern is tight where it counts: $4.99 per booster pack across four different Bandai games. Starter decks are looser and trending up: $11.99 in 2022 and 2025, $15.99 by late 2026.

What this does not tell you is a Naruto price. Bandai has not published a pack count per box, a rarity distribution, or a product line-up for this game, and a per-pack MSRP without a box configuration cannot produce a box price. If someone has quoted you a Naruto box figure, ask them which set code it is for.

What you can actually spend money on today

Two things, and only one of them costs anything.

The Official Playmat, $35 (+tax). Sold at Bandai's convention booths: New York Comic Con (October 8 to 11, 2026, Javits Center, booth #2705), PAX Australia (October 9 to 11, 2026), and the Fest stops that follow. Limited to one per person per day, in limited quantities each day, and it ships in 2027. This is the only NARUTO CARD GAME item Bandai has attached a price to anywhere.

The CP-001 promo Chakra Card, free. Handed out at tutorial sessions to players registered to the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL on BANDAI TCG+ who complete the post-session survey, along with a logo sticker. On-site registration, one session per person per convention.

Deals tracks the short and honest list. Events has every session you can play at, including the January 2027 Fest stops in Orlando (January 7 to 10, Orange County Convention Center) and London (January 15 to 17, ExCel London), and the in-store tutorial sessions that Bandai's July 29, 2026 press release schedules to "roll out" in January 2027, the first time the game will be playable somewhere other than a convention floor.

When should real pre-orders appear?

A prediction, labelled as one. On the GUNDAM CARD GAME, set codes went public about six months before the product shipped. If Naruto follows the same spacing into a Summer 2027 release, product announcements land somewhere around winter 2026 into early 2027, which is also when the Orlando and London Fest stops happen and when in-store tutorials begin. That is an inference from one prior launch, not a Bandai statement, and Bandai has committed to nothing beyond "Summer 2027".

For the record on the Fest itself: Bandai's NARUTO site has dedicated Fest pages for seven of the eleven cities, Jakarta, Manila, Bangkok, Hong Kong S.A.R., Singapore, Orlando and London. Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo do not have one yet. None of those pages announces a product, a set code or a price.

Until a set code exists, the correct number of dollars to spend on a NARUTO CARD GAME pre-order is zero.
