CP-001 Chakra Card: every promo version and how to get one
CP-001 is the only NARUTO CARD GAME card with a product code, nine months before there is a product. Four distributions have been announced across three months, and the conditions attached to each one differ.
Quick answer
CP-001 is the promotional Chakra Card Bandai gives away at NARUTO CARD GAME tutorial sessions. Four distributions have been announced: the -Gen Con 2026 Ver.- (July 30 to August 2, 2026), the -New York Yankees Ver.- (September 8, 2026, Yankee Stadium), and an un-suffixed CP-001 at both New York Comic Con (October 8 to 11) and PAX Aus (October 9 to 11). At the conventions you must complete a free tutorial session, be registered to the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL on BANDAI TCG+, and fill in a post-session survey. Bandai has published no print run for any version.
The NARUTO CARD GAME does not go on sale until Summer 2027. There is no booster set, no starter deck and no product code for anything you can put in a deck.
There is, however, CP-001, a Chakra card that has now been announced for four separate giveaways in three months, in three countries, under three different printed names. It is the first NARUTO CARD GAME card to exist as a physical object in public hands, and it is worth understanding exactly what it is before the resale listings get ahead of the facts.
What a Chakra card is
Bandai's game has five card types: Leader, Character, EX Character, Chakra and Summon. Chakra is the resource type. Every deck runs exactly five Chakra cards. Bandai's press release describes a deck as "a deck of 51 cards, 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card," which this site reads as 1 Leader + 50 main deck + 5 Chakra + 1 Summon, or 57 cards in total.
Chakra is spent by flipping cards face-down to pay for Jutsu and Support
abilities, and both revealed Leaders carry a [Recovery] ability that rests
the Leader to flip all of your Chakra face-up again. It is a renewable pool
with a tempo cost, not a resource you burn through. That is why five copies
is enough for a whole game.
More on the type at Chakra cards, and the deck skeleton in the rules guide.
One thing that follows from all this: no Chakra card's text has ever been published, CP-001 included. The revealed gameplay cards are Leaders, Characters and EX Characters. Whether Chakra cards print abilities at all is not publicly known, and neither is whether CP-001 is legal in constructed play.

Three distinguishable printings of one card number, two tied to a specific event and one serving as the general convention handout, established before a single retail product exists.
The condition most people miss
At every convention stop, the card is not simply handed to anyone who plays. Bandai's wording is consistent across the Gen Con, NYCC and PAX Aus pages: only participants registered to the "NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL" on TCG+ and who complete a survey after the Tutorial Session are eligible to receive the gifts.
BANDAI TCG+ is Bandai's card-game app. It handles event applications, check-in and match results across its TCG titles. Registering the NARUTO channel means:
- Tap the TCG title at the top of the screen
- Select NARUTO CARD GAME and press [Change]
- Tap [Event Details] on the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL, then [Confirm Event Series]
- Tap [Apply], then [Confirm Contents and Apply]
- Log in with a BANDAI NAMCO ID
Bandai is explicit that this channel "is not for event participation at a venue". It exists only to push updates. It is a marketing list that happens to gate a promo card.
The practical consequence: the barrier is an app install and an account creation. Do it before you travel, not in the queue on show-day Wi-Fi.
What changed between Gen Con and October
Three things, all of them worth knowing if you are planning around NYCC or PAX Aus.
Registration moved. Gen Con tutorial tickets were booked weeks ahead through the Gen Con events system. For NYCC and PAX Aus, Bandai says registration "is planned to take place on-site on the day of the event." There is no advance booking to miss, and no advance booking to rely on either.
The backpack is gone. The Gen Con gift set included a Special Backpack, distributed in limited quantities daily on a first-come basis. Neither October listing mentions one.
The playmat mechanism is vaguer. At Gen Con, completing a tutorial session earned a Purchase Voucher, valid on the event day only, for the NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat -Arriving in 2027- at $35 (+tax). The NYCC and PAX Aus pages list the same playmat at the same price, one per person, in limited quantities each day, but neither states whether you receive a voucher or the item. The "-Arriving in 2027-" suffix in the product name implies the former.
That $35 remains the only price Bandai has published for anything connected to the NARUTO CARD GAME.
The Yankee Stadium version is the odd one
The September 8 giveaway has none of the convention structure. No booth, no tutorial session, no TCG+ requirement, no survey. Bandai's announcement names the event NARUTO x YANKEES GAME NIGHT, gives Yankee Stadium and the date, states that a Chakra card featuring the Yankees logo will be distributed there, and points readers at the Yankees' own promotions schedule for anything else.
Be blunt about what that means: Bandai does not say who gets one. Not every ticket-holder, not a section, not the first n through a gate. It publishes no basis at all. If you have seen a quantity or an eligibility rule attached to this giveaway, it did not come from this page. Our full write-up covers what the announcement does and does not contain.
It is also the first NARUTO CARD GAME promotion aimed outside the hobby entirely, at a stadium crowd, nine months before there is anything to buy.
No other product code exists
This is the part that matters for anyone reading listings.
As of September 2, 2026, CP-001 is the only NARUTO CARD GAME product code
Bandai has published. The revealed gameplay cards carry N- numbers
(Naruto Uzumaki is N-001, Sasuke Uchiha is N-012), and those are reveal-order
numbers, not set-scoped collector numbers. Bandai has announced:
- no set code, and no set name
- no booster, starter deck or collector's box
- no MSRP for any card product; the $35 playmat is the sole exception
- no rarity scheme, no reprint policy, and no statement on whether
CPcards are constructed-legal
So a listing quoting a set code, a booster SKU or a box price is quoting something Bandai has not said. Our card list tracks every revealed card and its number; the release date page tracks the roadmap to Summer 2027.
Where the next chances are
The convention run continues through October, with NYCC and PAX Aus overlapping by three days, followed by Spiel Essen, Paris Games Week and Lucca Comics & Games, then BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27, where Bandai's NARUTO site has dedicated pages for seven of the eleven cities: Jakarta (October 10 to 11, 2026), Manila (October 24 to 25), Bangkok (November 21 to 22), Hong Kong S.A.R. (November 28 to 29), Singapore (December 5 to 6), Orlando (January 7 to 10, 2027) and London (January 15 to 17, 2027). Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo do not have one yet. Bandai's own roadmap then moves to in-store tutorial sessions at local game stores from January 2027, with the official site promising only "more info coming soon" in between.
Whether CP-001 continues at those stops, or a CP-002 appears, has not been announced. The events page tracks every confirmed date, and how the October tutorial sessions work covers the operating details in full.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I get the CP-001 Chakra Card at NYCC or PAX Aus?
- Attend one of the free tutorial sessions. Registration takes place on-site on the day of the event, not in advance. Before you go, install BANDAI TCG+ and register the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL, which requires a BANDAI NAMCO ID. After the session, complete the survey. Bandai states that only participants registered to the channel who complete the survey are eligible for the gifts, and prizes are limited to one per person however many sessions you attend.
- How many CP-001 cards were printed?
- Bandai has not published a print run, a per-day allocation or a per-event quantity for any version of CP-001. The only quantity language on its event pages is a per-person limit of one participation prize per person and, for the Official Playmat and the Gen Con backpack, 'limited quantities each day'. Any specific number you see attached to CP-001 did not come from Bandai.
- Is CP-001 the same card each time?
- No. The printed names differ. Gen Con's is 'CP-001 Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.-', Yankee Stadium's is 'CP-001 Chakra Card -New York Yankees™ Ver.-', and the NYCC and PAX Aus pages both list an un-suffixed 'CP-001 Chakra Card'. They share a card number and are distinguished by version suffix. Bandai has not published card text or artwork for any of them, so whether they differ in anything beyond the treatment is unknown.
