In-store tutorial sessions, January 2027: what Bandai has said and what it has not

The NARUTO CARD GAME leaves the convention circuit and lands in local game stores in January 2027. That single line is close to everything Bandai has published about the phase that matters most for whether the game takes root.

Quick answer

Bandai's roadmap places in-store tutorial sessions for the NARUTO CARD GAME in January 2027, described in its July 29, 2026 press release as In-store Tutorial Sessions roll out, January 2027. No exact date, no store list, no country list, no sign-up mechanism and no participation gift has been published. Bandai's retailer page names sixteen official distributors across five regions and says information on how to become a Bandai TCG+ store and carry the game will be available soon. Until that page changes, no store can confirm it is hosting anything.

Everything the NARUTO CARD GAME has done in public so far has happened inside a convention hall. In January 2027 that changes: Bandai's roadmap moves the game into local game stores.

The line in the July 29, 2026 press release reads, in full: In-store Tutorial Sessions roll out, January 2027. The roadmap graphic on Bandai's site marks the same month with the same words. That is the announcement in its entirety.

Why it is the phase that matters

A convention demo reaches people who were already going to a convention. Bandai has run those at Gen Con, and has New York Comic Con, PAX Aus, Spiel Essen, Paris Games Week, Lucca and the January Orlando and London Fest stops to come. Every one of them is a few thousand people at most, each capped at a single session.

A store rollout is different in kind. It reaches the locals scene, the weekly room of eight to thirty people who decide whether a competitive card game has a pulse in a given town. Bandai knows this; it is how One Piece, Digimon, Gundam and Union Arena were seeded. Placing the store phase roughly six months before the Summer 2027 release means teaching staff and regulars before there is product to sell them, which is the conventional order and a reason to take the date seriously.

What Bandai has actually published

Very little, and it is worth being exact about the boundary.

Published: the month, January 2027, on the roadmap and in the press release. The word used is "roll out", which implies a staggered start rather than a single launch day, though Bandai does not elaborate. The site's own schedule strip brackets the whole tutorial programme as October 2026 to early 2027.

Not published: any date. Any store. Any country list. Any sign-up mechanism. Any session format or length. Any participation gift. Any indication of whether stores need to apply, be selected, or buy in. Whether the sessions use the same demo decks as the conventions. Whether the one-session-per-person cap applies. Whether the BANDAI TCG+ channel and survey condition carries over.

We are not going to fill any of that in by analogy with Bandai's other titles. The convention pages show that when Bandai has rules, it prints them in exhausting detail. The absence here is an absence.

The retailer page is the thing to watch

Bandai has one page aimed at the trade, and it is short. Its retailers page names sixteen official distributors across five regions: five in North America, six in Europe, one in Oceania, two in Latin America and two in the Middle East. There is no Asia heading and no Japanese distributor on the English page.

Above the list sits the sentence that governs this whole milestone: more information on how to become a Bandai TCG+ store and carry the NARUTO CARD GAME will be available soon. Store enrolment has not opened. Until it does, no shop can truthfully advertise a NARUTO CARD GAME session, because there is no programme to be enrolled in.

The phrase "Bandai TCG+ store" is the one concrete signal. BANDAI TCG+ is the same app that carries the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL, and the same one Bandai uses across its other card games for event registration, check-in and results. The in-store programme is being routed through infrastructure that already exists rather than something built for Naruto.

What to do about it

If you run a store: the distributor list is who you will eventually order through, and the retailer page is where the enrolment instructions will appear. Nothing else has opened.

If you want to play: there is nothing to sign up for. Learning the game costs nothing in the meantime, and the rules guide covers every mechanic Bandai has confirmed while saying plainly which parts are still blank. The events page carries the calendar, and our distributor breakdown goes through the sixteen names.

Frequently asked questions

What is the exact date of the in-store tutorial sessions?
There is not one. Bandai's press release says In-store Tutorial Sessions roll out, January 2027, and its roadmap graphic marks the same month. No day, no start date and no end date has been published, and no store has been named.
How do I find a store running one?
You cannot yet. Bandai's retailer page lists distributors, not stores, and says information on how to become a Bandai TCG+ store and carry the NARUTO CARD GAME will be available soon. Store enrolment has not opened. Any shop advertising a NARUTO CARD GAME session date today is working from the same public roadmap you are.
Will there be a promo card at in-store sessions?
Bandai has not said. Every convention Tutorial Session so far has carried a participant gift, usually the CP-001 Chakra Card, conditional on registering the NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL on BANDAI TCG+ and completing a survey. Nothing about gifts, cards or conditions has been published for the in-store phase.
